YAZ by NEAD
YAZ by NEAD (Young Adults Zone) is an innovative under-18s youth and community space based in Workington, created to tackle youth anti-social behaviour by providing young people with a safe, supervised, and engaging alternative during peak evening hours.
Operating as a modern youth hub rather than a traditional youth club, YAZ offers disco nights, café spaces, games, free WiFi, social activities, and trusted adult support in an environment young people actively want to attend.
The project is designed to reduce street congregation, improve community relationships, promote wellbeing, and create positive opportunities for young people across West Cumbria while delivering meaningful early intervention and long-term social impact.
