Northern Equality and Diversity (NEAD CIC) is a community-led organisation dedicated to creating safer, more inclusive, and empowering spaces for people across Cumbria and the North of England.
Built on the values of equality, diversity, wellbeing, and community collaboration, NEAD delivers projects and initiatives that bring people together, support young people, and create lasting positive social impact. From large-scale community events and Pride celebrations to youth engagement programmes and wellbeing initiatives, our work is focused on building stronger, more connected communities where everyone feels welcome and valued.
At the heart of NEAD is a commitment to creating opportunities for those who need them most. Through projects such as YAZ by NEAD, our under-18s youth centre in Workington, we provide safe spaces for young people to socialise, access support, and take part in positive activities including disco nights, café spaces, games, and community events.
